Launching the Better Phone Project

At HMD (Human Mobile Devices) we are constantly looking for new ways to create devices that are better for people and not devices that is better for the tech-industry.

Therefore we are teaming up with parents, experts, interest groups and basically anyone who wants to create a new mobile devices that addresses the impact of smartphones and social media on kids and Gen Z, aiming to provide a balanced alternative.

A global survey of 10,000 parents reveals that smartphone use and social media apps negatively affect their children's mental wellbeing.
Over half of parents regret giving their child a smartphone.
70% of parents say they engaged more with their family during their smartphone-free childhood.
Nearly 75% of parents worry about internet dangers their children face on smartphones.
Almost half of parents believe mobile phone use has changed their child’s personality.

To tackle these concerns, we at HMD is launching the Better Phone Project, aiming at co-creating better devices for people.
